    Default How far from seedlings

Very quick question as it's been a little while since I've grown. How far away from my hps set at 250w do I want my seedlings to be? They are just standing upright for the first time today.

Thank you so much. I've set it for 14inches as they are so young and tender. Will give them a coupe of days on 250 before cranking it up

I'm 14 inches at 250w but they have stretched loads. How close dare I go? Temps about 24c in there. They are in small pots with seedling soil. I'm scared of cooking

Well I'm at 12 inches from the tops under 400w hps with no ill effects now my plants are at nearly 6 weeks old
You can lower yours just by an inch and put the back of your wrist at canopy level for a minute if it feels uncomfortable back it back up again, if it feels fine leave for a few hours before lowering it again and do your arm check each time
Any leaf curling back it off
have a fan blowing between the plant and your light
Try not to do big jumps like from 14 to 10 inches for example just do small increments.. Less stress
Young seedlings can't expell the heat to good
Got a picture of the stretch?

I use photo resizer hd app it puts my pictures under the 2mb limit as I don't use Tapatalk, I think I need a mentor just to figure out tapas settings
If you've got room at the top of your pot you can add soil to support the stems or when you pot up

I've upped it to 400w and moved it to 15 inch. I'm working all day now so better safe than sorry. Feels plenty cool to my hands. I'll move closer tonight if they are looking OK. I think 250 is a bit crappy I have a feeling this happened last time and I just ended up cracking it right up. They all look five except strawberry cough looks a little dry. I might need a dehumidifier too. I've hung some wet towels in for now
