Been working on a DIY carbon filter. Bought some of the stuff you put in cooker hoods. Cut 2cm strips and then coiled up into a baked bean can. Found 2cm was about right to get a good airflow through it. See if it works

I remember my first plant smelt the most when it was in veg which I found odd. Once it started flowering there was hardly any smell. Didn't have any extraction that time.

Don't know if it is a good idea but also making my own nute solutions. Slowly getting the Calcium Nitrate, Potassium Nitrate and monopotassium phosphate in stock and just started germinating my first seed. Been doing a lot of reading about making nutes and my conclusion is about 3-1-2 NPK in veg and a 1-3-2 in flower. Been using hydrobuddy and got a veg recipe that hits 3-1-2 but can't get the flower to be 1-3-2. I get to 1-1.8-1.2 so also designed a PK boost to add for closer to 1-3-2. No idea if any of it will work, the seat of my pants flew off long ago.

Also found out you can just root cuttings straight into a flood drain system, all you need to do is add rooting solution to the reservoir. Going to try that. Having issues uploading images so had to host elsewhere.Tried every which way to upload and still no luck.

Is there a way to edit posts or does it have a time limit? Wanted to add the recipes I have come up with.

Here they are. Not sure if I should have all the other stuff in the PK boost like Ca, Mg, Mo ect. My theory is that I have tried to get 1-6-4 in the PK boost so the idea is if I go half and half flower PK boost I should end up around 1-3-2. The Potassium is high but I can't get any lower or increase the Phosphorous without adding too much NH4+ which I hear can be bad if there's too much and not enough NO3-

Think my seed has cracked had it bobbing in a glass of water for a day or two. Hopefully have the root out tomorrow morning and get the thing planted.

Just waiting on a couple more micro nutrients to arrive then all in stock. Going to have enough micros to last me a lifetime I think haha. Worked out the cost for 1litre of A+B and my solutions come out to £5-7 or around 1/3 to 1/2 the price of premixed. Spent just under £100 in the end.

The 4k you have would be great moved up to the mother room. 3k or 2.7 for the flower room. I would start with 2 plants and see how it goes but of course just my opinion.

Going to order some of the 2700k LEDs. Only a couple of quid each so not too bad if they work out.

The only problem I have been reading about it light stress from LEDs. Hopefully it won't be an issue but not much space. Might have to squish the mother room a little bit if it shows itself, could be a good idea anyway so I can get more bud.

Probably going to go straight flower for the clones, maybe a weeks veg just to get established? Found a good thread with some straight flower from seed in a pc case with nice results and size.

We have life G13 Haze, have three more seeds from my pack of 5 and went with the worst looking of the bunch. Looked a lot darker in colour and healthier once I dropped it into a glass of water. Can't be arsed to set up the CFL lights tonight so just stuck it on the window ledge with some other free herb seeds I got online years ago.

EC and PH meter have arrived

Only did a quick bit of research but these ones seemed the best for around £100. Always better to spend as much as you can on monitoring equipment right? Be interesting to compare it over a few years to a cheap Chinese one. Keep getting adverts for them now after buying these haha.

Tested my water and after a few minutes the light was bouncing between 0.2-0.4 so pretty soft water? Turns out hard water seems to be anything over 100PPM

Put her under a couple of CFL and a LED bulb. Added a little pot of water because humidity looks low.

You might want to take two of those pots out before any life shows. JMO

Don't understand what you mean hotshot take them out where?

Put a baggy over the pot to keep some moisture in, popped her head up this morning. Forgot I have a free liberty haze seed too so started that sprouting in a glass of water.

All my nutrients have arrived now, just need to buy some bottles to keep it in.
