Thread: Female to male Coupler?

  1. Default Female to male Coupler?

    Hi Talkers,

    Ok so I want to use a coupler to extend my fans flange out from an MDF acoustic box, however, I need the coupler to be a female on one end (over the flange of the fan) and a male on the other, so that the ducting can fit on the outside of it...I've drawn a pic to help describe what I mean ;

    I've looked everywhere and can't see anything like that, does anyone know of anything like this and can point me in the right direction, please?

    I looked for something similar and could only find a 'connector' which was male on both sides. I ended up just stuffing the ducting through the hole! (no lube either....)

    Cheers mate, I was looking at those but they seem to sell them either in male or female, never one end male and the other female, unfortunately, I might try a workaround somehow by making one end small with a hammer maybe?

    That's too big of a step, like a whole inch, which would be no good for me as it's reducing the rate of airflow, which will act as a bottleneck but thank you for the suggestion.

    It's because they are designed to join together with ducting.

    The only other way of doing it would be to use a off cut of spiral duct . Seal and fix it to the female coupler and then you have what you need but made by your own fair hands
