I guess that's another factor which is down to a growers own choice of growing style and how they like to grow..if I like growing in soil and have done from the start then I will recommend what I like and do myself...I can't recommend something I have not tried, same as you when you say you have not tried soil.
On the flip side of the coin I've seen many coco grows here get messed up big time due to EC readings not being followed correctly, or a grower simply not understand coco..and underwatering etc.
Soil for me seems a lot easier to grow (and please coco growers I'm not starting an argument over which is best LOL)..these are MY personal reasons
I see many growers not even having a clue about PH, EC being another factor for them to consider that
may seem complex to them, learning to manage watering is part of becoming a better grower in my opinion, so having a new grower actually learn the fundamentals just seems logical to me at least.
I'm 100% sure both ways of growing are good choices, but when it comes down to personal recommendations, then they are what we as individuals would do ourselves.
The great part is Jumper..we are all giving our opinions and ultimately the grower from these choices can research a little and see what would best suit there style
