    My tent is 0.6 x 1.2 x 1.8.

I can grow 4 medium plants fine. I have done 6 but it is a push and crowded plants do not yield as well.

I run a 6" out and 4" in. So that is a 6" carbon filter. You could get away with a 4" in my tent, but bigger is quieter as you can run a lower speed setting.

Sound. I'll go for a smaller tent then and I can get better gear.
All I need to know now is if soil or Coco is better for growing for my first try?

I was looking at a 120x120 and was gonna try 4 plants but would a 60x60 or 90x90 be ok or would I have to have less plants?
Also what size mountain air fan do you recommend and is the phonic ducting worth the big price difference?

Now then. You seem a nice fella. You don't want to be opening up that debate on here!

Horses for courses. blah blah blah

If you buy an EC pen and PH pen, and you are more scientifically minded, go coco. But be aware, twice day feedings.

For me, it is easy, formulaic and very lazy. But my whole system is automated. Harder to do in soil as needs much more human interpretation IMO (wet/dry cycles for instance vs flood the bastards!!)

If you like organics, natural, water, hippy stuff and wondering what the hell is going on, try soil.

Honestly both work, both are hard until you can read the girls and know how to react.

Hey dude, that kit list is a great starting point and the guys above have given some good pointers too!

If you added a ph and ec pen to that list coco was fantastic for me as a beginner a few months a go. Think it takes more work than soil at times but I love going by the numbers.

I think it was a guy called mc who told someone in your situation to start with:

    Why am I growing/What do I need? (I. E. An oz a month?).

How many plants would I need and how often? (which will somewhat dictate the size you want if the space is available!)

Other things I can think of in terms of setting up:

Where is the tent going, can you extract and intake air easily? (will dictate size in a way again )

Security! Don't want to advertise it so needs to be somewhat discreet.

Noise is something else to think about. Even just the fans circulating the air create noise if you want the tent in a bedroom the fabric is quite thin and you will hear them (BTW I would get two little 6 inch fans at least). I like the white noise good job I'm single

    Anyway sorry for the ramble

Since you mention being on a budget then soil is probably the cheapest way to start
