    Default 430nm Quantum

    Hiya Talk

I seriously reckon the 660nm Quantum strips are the dogs nuts. My yields are through the roof.

So, I have bough 4 x 35W 430nm Quantum Strips. Lets up the Blue!

I will run 2 strips in series with the 660nm. The other two for prop tent

    I cannot wait to see what the combined effects will have. 265W 3500K then 80W @ 660nm & 80W @ 430nm

    Mon the 420W mixed Quantum!

Nice, there seems a lot of differing opinions on what LED wavelengths to go for. Might have to order me some deep red and far red LEDs. Not sure how good my surface mount soldering is...

My far red came as a bult strip with heat sink on top.

The blues I have opted for are the same. Not sure if I can use the single driver to run all four strips.

I have a spare driver if not.

The plan is to cable tie the blue strips to the red

Reckon there must be a market bringing these strips over from China. Perhaps even making combo strips.

They are very popular in the reef tank community where they are mixing 4 strips on top of a main white.

They then mix the spectrum over the day via computer to simulate daylight -> nightlight.

The boards seem reasonably priced but I can't part with my money when I know they are paying <0.10 an LED. Totally worth the money if you have no interest in making PCBs.

As long as the driver can output the total amps required and the boards run at the same voltage you should be able to wire them all up in parallel.

I was thinking if it would make a difference if you slowly brought up lights in the morning and reverse in the evening would it make your plants happier? Never fun being woken up quickly.

So first combo QB11 strip built and ready to be installed tomorrow.

I have ordered a load of graphic card heat sinks to mount on top.

The blue is BRIGHT! May well fit the second set in the tent, but waiting on another driver.

Tested the first unit and drawing 32W which seems very low. I may look for a better driver.

Time to build the next unit.

    There's only 11 LED's, shouldn't be using 32W. If a unit is 4 of them then 32W makes sense.
