Northern Lights would be my choice for a beginner, very easy to grow, and this plant is one greedy bitch and can take high nutrient levels. So basically it is hard to overfeed her.

I'd suggest an auto as you don't have to muck about with light periods to flower...

    I think about northern light
Northern Light Automatic from Green House Seeds is a female autoflowering variety that has its roots in the cross of the legendary Northern Lights and Green-O-Matic.

It is a small and durable plant with oblong leaves that bring abundant, large, resinous buds. This strain is an automatic version of the world-famous Northern Lights.

The Northern Light Automatic flavor and aroma are sweet and fruity. Provides efficient and relaxing long-lasting effect.

    Genotype: Northern Light x Green-O-Matic
    Producer: Green House Seeds
    Type: Mainly Indica
    Flowering period: 10 weeks Indoor
    Yield: 100-150 g / m2 Indoor
Harvest: from April to October Outdoor
    Yield: 50-200 g / m2 Outdoor
    Height: 90-120 cm

Yield: 100-150 g / m2 Indoor. Are all Autos such low yielders. I've never grown them so don't know.
