Pressing crystals

Hi all, quick question. A friend of mine invested in a resin press the other week, he’s still waiting on its arrival but he’s planning on using 10g of crystals to press, would this actually get any kind of resin or would he just compact all those crystals?
Looking forward to hearing what might happen

Yeah, it was a cheap thing that came as a freebie with something else... big things, as you describe, are nicer but too expensive for my meager needs

Unless you mean a rOsin press which is something completely different as that melts the trichomes.

That I do, it’s a 3 ton press and it heats up at the same time sorry not really my thing so I’m not sure on the difference between resin/rosin in terms of weed

Sounds like a proper rosin press then, which are generally used to press nearly pure THC out of very fine mesh bags. I have no experience with this but I'm guessing it could be used to press 'pollen' as well to end up with a much more pure product.

Resin is another term used for trichomes which are the resin glands that produce our beloved high. The thing in M_C's picture is called a pollen press which makes things even more confusing as it's not used to press actuall pollen but kief to turn it into hash.

Yeah I think he bought some micron bags or something? Like the ones for making hash I think... he was also planning on using the squashed bud he had left for infused coconut oil, although I’m not sure how effective that would be if it’s just had all the THC etc pressed out of it

I use A press like MC, but it press's in several grams, if you want, much bigger. After I press all I can, I put in the oven on 250 degrees for A couple minutes just to melt the oils A little, than get several more turns on the press, and it turns out hard as A rock.

That press you are talking about is something complete different, it gets out much more purer THC than just pressing A hash block.
