I can see it now, a gardro pro fan fire controller

    Algorithm flow diagram

    Loop test fire condition

    If fire condition is false
Run normally with neg pressure etc

    Else [fire condition is true]

Detect net volumetric flow rate of extraction

Actuate release of inert gas into swirl device at volumetric of inlet

    And

Set inlet fan to zero ( ideal here is reverse direction in EC fan and make extract and or close inlet flap)

While Increment pressure and swirl of inert gas, increment extraction. Must maintain net negative pressure ( dont smell while this going on)

Few tweaks and debugging no problem

Solid state relay control linked of ballasts
Piss off you...I was there first

Optical fire alarm linked to a Pi...hardware is already built

Isn't it still used in some welding applications??

You can still get it as they manufactured 1000's of tonnes of it which they can't just release into the atmosphere...so regulations say it has to be used for something useful...small scale fire protection is ideal

Cant argue with that...am going to go the HLG route myself so might be hitting you up in the near future

In the early 90's I was shown around a complex that was designed to survive a direct aircraft hit by the building being separated by what were (if you read the label on the tin) bomb proof doors and halon as choice of fire stopper... the data was probably of more importance than the people looking after things.... it was interesting....!

Good choice, plenty of UK supply now and answers this thread pretty well. The potential of fire is proportional to the watts
