    Just realised ive got 1 of these mines been fine up until now, safe to say il steer clear in the future...

    Glad nothing more serious than the unit burning out happened amnesia, couldve been a lot worse than your ladies having no light!

    Designed and made in china is a recipe for death on any appliance . Had a Cuisine art 500$ coffer maker go through a literal spontaneous meltdown . The plastic just started melting and thank fuck i was home .

    I love my magnetic ballast ,yes they don't dim down watts but I can sleep at night

    Mine have fucked the carpet that sit in granted ..but bullet proof,they sit on metal oven trays these days ..but yes MC they get stupid hot

    As long as they are in a metal enclosure of sorts they are fine . Ive seen many many plastic enclosed literally melt .

    What kind do you have ? I was looking for some and all i could find are fire balls that exlode i could see that drop off my groom shelf and instantaneously see my groom filled with foam i the blink of an eye ... with me in it

    I used only magnetic ballasts in the past sad, first time trying this digital dimmable one.. let's see how I get on, they seem MUCH cooler.

    Apparently you can kick them around and they can't go off Trex, they have a fuse that gets lit at a certain temp before it explodes...I was looking at that too, but not sure, to go for that or the old skool versions that M_C uses..still undecided.

    I need to really stick one up in the loft with my exhaust fan and one in the tent.
