    Default Answered: Coco medium

Just a quick one really and this isnt anything major, This happened to me on my last grow aswell when I water the coco it's moving all over the shop and creating holes and also exposing the roots. I have just been moving the coco back once watered. Is there a way of stopping this happening as much I'm guessing once there is more roots it will probably hold the medium together more.

I know a simple way would be take my time when watering, other than that can press down on the coco to compact it more or not ( not fully sure if that would help anyway)

Any other ideas feel free to let me know

Clay balls on top to hold the coco down and lessen the water flow or as you said slow down!

Water slowly, or use a drip system. Clay pebbles could also work but I believe an even, slow manual feed is just as great as a drip.... Just a big hustle with multiple plants water twice a day in coco...

After you water the next time. Try packing the top of the coco down a bit more.
    Maybe its just too loose.

Thanks guys clay balls i might be a good shout, I think I watering way to fast then to be honest I can easy slow it down and take my time, I'm using a jug and probably empty 2 litres in less than 10-15 seconds at times, no wonder medium is moving all over and creating a hole and moving the medium else where

This could just be the plain obvious that I'm watering to fast by the sounds, I know at later stages when the plants are bigger and medium seems more dry it takes longer to soak through so I have no option other than to water slow as if I don't it will just piss through the sides of fabrics pots

I will start water slow or maybe use something else other than a jug

Am I okay adding a touch more coco to more pots ? I'd probably do that just before feeding which I imagine would be the best time. If packing it down abit won't cause any problems for roots I will do that as it does seem quite loose. Then add my watering technique to that doesn't help either

I will go slow and steady on the watering and pack it down abit more if it won't cause problems as I believe it maybe quite loose

I'm not going to lie I just water as fast as the coco can take it so I haven't been going slow and steady at all

Thanks jumper mate I think I'll add some more to the pots and pack it down abit, then with a slow a steady water all should be good, I know it's loose as when I water it moves and then I move it all back so it's even and that happens daily so it's never setting nicely always getting disturbed

I don't actually know why I don't take my time when I water as I'm never in no rush unless I'm in flower and they are stinking as I do like to get it closed up as quick as I can
