So full of life, I'll be turning it and adding sand and perlite. Still has the summer to be added to and cooked.

Looking good. I love my compost piles!

Is that rabbit shit and are you covering the whole pile with the tarp?

Yes that's rabbit poop and Timothy hay and yes I cover the whole thing with a tarp, for me helps bring the worms in.

Country, great insight on the compost pile and the feedback from others. Certainly great to have the soil working for your ladies vs you having to manage the constant balance of feeding.
I noticed in the compost pics there are worms, do you sort out worms in the medium when filling your actual pots? I always wondered if worms would survive in indoor planter environments oir if 82F to 85 F is too hot and would cook them. I know they're great for soil, just wasn't certain if indoor growers can add live worms to the equation.

I have about two weeks till I transplant my seedlings to 5 gallon pots, and thought of starting clover in the pots now before transplanting the seedlings over. I don't have the liberty to work a compost pile unfortunately, and read clover is a good symbiotic plant buddy for mary jane.

I let em stay in the pot but when I start using my pile the worms had left. It was soil basically. Those guys make quick work of compost.
Same soil in the tote, I do amend every now and then.

Building another batch of my soil. All table scraps minus large bones, rabbit poo and Timothy hay. As fall moves in I'll be adding garden and yard greens to it as well. Under this layer things are really decomping quickly. Anyone else building soil like this? Click image for larger version.
