    Default Organics and health

Just had an interesting conversation with a lad I know at work who grows organically.
Long story short he insists organic weed is healthier for you, compared to chemically grown which I disagreed with, much to his frustration lol.

Asked him to point me to a study that shows organic weed is a healthier product... all I got was well organic foods healthier so cannabis will be to, which dont ring true to me either tbh.
Whether the plant gets it direct from chems or through breakdown in the soil it still just ends up as NPK does it not?

I would take a stab that pesticides make the biggest difference in how clean the product will be not the nutrients.

If anybody knows of studys showing this, I would like to read it as I'm just seeing a shit ton of bro science on it lol.

Just want to make it clear that I have nothing against organic growing at all, it's a great way of growing weed and it's better for the enviroment, most likely taste too but I'm a smoker so cant say I've noticed taste tbh.

My big problem with it is people blindly insisting something will be healthier simply because its organically grown with no evidence to back it up. If there is evidence I will happily reconsider my position on it lol.

    I am with you here.

Organic veg simply does not taste better. I have been at blind tastings. All to do with the environment. A good carrot is that...good.

Medicines and pesticides I am more cautious with.

I am also starting to think flush is not what we are led to believe and whether it is useful.

Im very much interested of not flushing one or two of my blackberries... Probably ill choose 2 girls that look very much alike and a/b test lol.

Just cu theyre all different seeds i know its not a scientific experiment... But lets see if there are major differences in yield, taste and smell.

It's the unquestioning belief that some folk have that anything organic must be better that gets me. Lead for instance is far more dangerous in its organic form but most people nowadays would just assume organic means good...

I do believe theres lots of benefits to organics, the fact that it gets people interested in how our soil actually works and how our actions can damage soil health being a major benefit, but the claimed health benefits need more examination imo.

I'm going to be totally honest and simply say that I personally do not have enough experience in using both methods to know if there is a difference or not..HOWEVER, I will echo what has been said above and can 100% say that I can and have tasted bud that's been sprayed with pesticides but growers who I can only assume do not consume and didn't care about who was smoking it, most likely sprayed late into flower...I've had VERY bad lung reactions to this...and you can taste it too.

Have seen unflushed bud spark and burn strange but to say it was down to the lack of a flush... who knows lol.
Majority of my grows were soil with canna bio or PM oldtimer nutrients so I never bothered to flush. If people say it's ok to have organic plants unflushed then why is it different for chems if it all ends up as npk anyways?

Gaz posted some research somewhere to show theres no evidence whatsoever that flushing does anything.

Just because you are starving a plant means what exactly?

Need to ask him about it lol I would like to read that. Is the flush getting rid of the chlorophyll in the plant causing it to burn/taste better? And not much to do with nutrients at all.

Just had a read, that's very interesting cracking bit of info found, Ice. I'm really starting to wonder if it's more to do with the chlorophyll... than the npk left in the plant. Think I need to do more digging lmao

Yeah I only found it because of what gardro had posted before saying something along the lines of finding some sort of research on the subject (in that same thread)...did a little digging and found it which was cool

Bad smoking street weed is more to do with rox/pgrs, loads of spider mites sprays/hotshots and other adulteration. Dont think it has anything to do with flush.

That's the thing though mate, taste means little to me I've torched my tastebuds with cigs lol. It's the claim that organically grown is far healthier than grown with chemical nutrients that I'm interested in.

Take the GMO and pesticides out the equation and just a straight chem fed plant vs organic fed plant. Will the organic one be a cleaner product is what I'm saying.
