I don't think that is A grantee that they are the correct seeds, just because they are in the Breed's Pack. Some one smoking A little much could mix the breeder packs up just as easily I think. JMO

No names mentioned but I have had 100% failure germination rate with one particular "shop", not the breeder but "middle men". Bought more than once from them, and they seem to be the only one to have a particular strain that I want, but I just can't afford those kind of percentages. There are PLENTY of other strains out there.

I had better results with Nirvana's own seeds as a Complete Noob, than this shop with expensive imported genetics. No offence to the companies that distribute for a number of breeders, but by the looks of things I am keeping to the breeders themselves next time I buy.

That is exactly where I am coming from Herbsman, I couldn't care less if my seeds were packaged in plain recycled packaging with the strain name and flowering guide printed on said packaging (not a sticker). As long as the package can't be tampered with for example opened and resealed, I am happy.

It isn't in the breeders interest to put inferior or a different but similar strain seed into a sealed pack, but this could not be said for the middle man and his/her employees. Lets face it we are buying online from someone we don't know and will probably never meet. We are buying a product that can not be identified as the genuine article until we have invested 3 months of our time to grow not to mention the cost.

If I am going to invest my time and money I want to know the seeds I buy are 100% what it says on the pack. If I am given free seeds it is part of the deal so I also want these seeds to be 100% the genuine article.

I am not in any way saying skulduggery happens very often in the seed business but to say it hasn't or never will is naive.

It isn't so much the price of the seed purchase that is worrying, it is the time and money we invest to get the finished article.

Poor quality packaging that can be tampered with is just not acceptable IMHO.

No not Gold plated Blue mate. I am a sucker for high priced items ( I have you get what you pay for syndrome) which is strange as I have spent most of my life in the retail trade so should know better.

Gelato #33 from Flavor Chasers 130 quid for 5 seeds and they will come in a little black box that can easily be opened and resealed. I will still buy these as they come from LSC and from what I gather they seem genuine and I think do have actual brick and mortar retail premises which goes a long way.

Lets be realistic an order comes in for 10 Gelato #33 seeds at £260 online, unfortunately I only have 1 pack of 5 left, I do have a shed load of bag seed I could slip an extra 5 into the pack and Who is to know, just an unstable strain with different phenotype's.

Totally get where your coming from

It’s still early days but I’m running two totally different seeds, both bought as singles £13 each, they really couldn’t be anymore different strain wise yet both look exactly the same at the moment.

Wish Id never seen this thread. Don’t think il buy seeds ever again

Unfortunately as well as having "you get what you pay for syndrome", I am also afflicted with "kid in a sweet shop disease" so even though I have access to a good selection of mother plants, I still buy seeds. I just find it more interesting.

Be detrimental to the middleman though if they get caught out doing this.
Surely if it was a regular thing it would be picked up. Like you say folk would be pretty pissed off if they spent months growing the wrong strain and let other growers know who would then go elsewhere...

Yea for sure Scooby but take this scenario a seed bank knows it is going under and it is inevitable that they will cease trading within a month or two never to be heard of again they still have stock of unpopular seeds they are never going to sell. Easy 5 free top quality seeds with every order over £50 then you spend the next 3 months growing whatever.

Fair point mate if the firm goes tits up I could defo see it happening, if it's a make ya cash and run for the hills scenario.

But if it's a reputable seed bank that in it for the long haul I highly doubt they would risk tarnishing there rep with this mate makes no business sense to me man.

Tbh even the genuine breeders sometimes send out substandard products so it's all really luck of the draw anyways imo. Just look at the shit going on with mephisto germ rates great packaging but no guarantee you going to get it to pop.
