    Default Light height and stretching

I'm about to start first grow and this is 1 I put into germination on 21/9, easy bud auto. It had popped the shell by 23/9 so I put it straight in the tent in soil in a 12 Ltr fabric pot. Soil is tropic mix 60% peat 40% coco.
Using a 300 w blue spec cfl and read you can put them within 1-2 inches away from the top of the plant without burning them. I don't know if this plant looks healthy for a few days old or not, is it stretching to the light? does it look like the light is too close to it? It looks a bit gangly

Got a S D just popped the shell getting planted tomorrow so want to try get it right.

Fill your bucket up to the bottom of the starter leaves. This will slow the stretch down, and grow some new roots in the new stuff you top it off with. I just notice you are in coco, you might want to get an opinion from a coco grower, I only do soil, before you do my suggestion. Sorry.

The waay I've always done it is to place the back of my hand at leaf top level, if it burns then back off with the light until it doesn't..and sure it's true you can get those CFL's pretty close for sure

Stretching happens, but once you get some air moving around them, that helps strengthen the stems. Keep your eye on humidity though..lacks of roots and too low a humidity can cause big issues with seedlings and even early veg.

Make sure you have air movement around it
Doesn't need to be a lot but help strengthen the stem.
Try and direct the fan so it bounces off a wall or just about reaches it from a distance
You want to aim for a slight breeze by it
if i help drop a THANKS its free
