    Default Run off

Growing in coco 25litre pots. I’ve got the pots on big drainers so getting a lot off run off would this be a good idea or is it better to let the pots sit in trays to limit the run off ?

Get that runoff away from the plants as soon as you can...

How does this limit runoff as you suggested in your opening post ? As said dump it, if the plants are sat in it they draw all the crap and concentrated salts back into the medium..If you leave it laying around in your room/tent it will raise the humidity and also attract pathogens...

The pots are sat on something to enable probably to much run off. Heard your aim is 10% run off am probably getting around 30% most times I come to feeding there nearly pretty dry?

You want to aim for around 15~20% runoff, after a while you learn to gauge how much feed/water solution you need to put into each plant to achieve the correct amount of runoff....Just dispose of the runoff once the pots have finished draining mate, its that simple...

My daughter refers to runoff as "plant pee". Its a good way to think of it. No good reason to keep a puddle of your own piss hanging around. Though I have heard it can be useful for composting... OK, so SOME people would like to keep their own pee but the simile stands!
