    Default UV Users Advice Wanted

I've just received my Solacure UVB bulb and wondered how long people start their uv times at. I was thinking 45 mins on 45 off 45 on or do you think I should drop that to 30 minutes for first exposure? The instructions say to start at 2 hours and work your way up, that seems a bloody lot to me for a tender plant that's never seen uv and the last thing I want is uv burn. It also says to work up to 6 hours on, that does seem excessive as I've heard of ppl using reptile bulbs a couple of hours and getting good results.

    Thoughts and experience appreciated.

Well I've had light in for a couple of nights and I have to report its definitely made the plants smell more so I'm guessing it's stimulating the production of terpes at the very least. I'll be cutting Durban Poison down in a week or too. I won't know if it's any stronger than if I'd not used them I guess but it should be good!

Big thing in the industy getting the new UL certification for horticultural lighting.

Cases of melanoma are on increase for farmers who never go outside

When you buy dodgy leds, high risk there can be spurious UV content.

Funnily, I was thinking this the other day... I assume there is no UV spikes in HPS lamps?

HPS is 100% clean but MH can be dodgy

Interesting - If asked I would have guessed the other way... it always seems to be the red range that causes issues

Mine are solacure horticultural lights. I don't go in the tent with them on. I've got them on 2 hours now on the plants midday cycle.
