Default Help with Wilma. Roots out bottom of pots.

Hi just changed res earlier on today. And I noticed the roots right out the bottom of the pots and on one it had made it to the res itself and this one is well bigger than the rest so I altered the top tray so all the roots can get into the res. Anyone else doing this. And what is easier way to change res when roots are in the tank as well. ? Thanks.

Yeah pal done that when I saw the root in the res. So cut a nice 4 inch hole for them all. How do you recommend I change res if it’s full of roots ? Leave the plants in place and just pump out all I can or should I make a stand to put the pots on so I can change it properly. I guess you can’t lay pots down if there’s loads of roots out the bottom. ?

I take it doesn’t matter if all the roots become twisted round each other. Would just have to leave them where they sit ?

Ok great. I can see difference with roots sitting in res anyway.

Yep just leave them to do their thing...You will end up with an entangled mat of roots when you remove the tray come harvest...

What about the heater etc what’s in the tank. Or don’t bother worrying. And I could just attach 2 bits of hose to the water pump to drain the system. For res change. Can’t wait to see what they do in next couple days.

Hi just a question. Iv had 3 autos on go and growing great but I had a wee stunted one And I have pulled it out cos it was hermed I believe. I’m just wondering about the roots in the tank. Do I need to get them all out cos they are all stuck with other roots. Cheers.
