It doesn't have to be a new filter or a expensive one . I just use a old filter

This may sound nuts, but can you use an old carbon filter on a passive intake? I have no idea how much resistance there is but it'd solve a puzzle for me...although the Secret Jardin solution is genius.

Yeah I use a old filter and rotate them.
Take old one off intake and take to the shop for my replacement discount and buy new one. Old one off my extraction and on intake new one fitted to the fan/extraction.
    Works a treat for myself

Would you need to up the filter size? So if I'm using a 100mm rvk, would the filter need to be 125-150mm? Cheers

I'd think a CF would restrict my intake too much

I'm going to be totally honest and say I do not know how much these baffles restrict air as I have nothing measurable for it...so British greens way of using a carbon filter may actually have better flow, I really do not know...both are good options I'm sure

    Hey @IceCalibur -

Years later, having had time to test this out, what did you think of the baffles?

    Cheers,

Now this is a blast from the past!..it was a good concept Barney, but unfortunately for my personal environment, it restricted airflow far too much so I stopped using them

They do not allow light in or out mind, so they work perfectly in that area..I should imagine for some growers environment where extraction rates do not need to be high, it could still work very well.

Thanks, Boss. It's a shame. They look like such a good bit of kit too.

Thank you. I'll keep at it. Fun fact: I searched Google for 'light baffle grow tent' and Google was like, "Dude, you're going to wind up there anyways. Top Result is Ice."

    Glad for it too.

I tie a microfibre cloth over a short piece of black 6" ducting and point it at the floor.

That's pretty cool..I'm glad that it's coming up as a top result for that search query on google

Oh and with regards to what I use now..two 6" ducting long enough to bend a few times with a mesh filter on the end does the trick for me
