Thread: Finally!!..a simple light baffle solution

  1. Lightbulb Finally!!..a simple light baffle solution

    Hi Talkers, so was thinking that after all these years someone, somewhere would have designed something for us growers to stop light entering our tent without the light leaks..and I found something

    I know it's easy enough to just bend our ducting but it's another option, short and clean.

    Secret Jardin designed and created a Light baffle, obviously, they designed it to fit in with their new tents..but I found a very simple work around and created two for myself ;

    Here is the light baffle ;

    Video about it;

    I do not have one of their tents and really did not want to start cutting holes on it either so I simply purchased some 6 inch plastic ducting, cut at around 11.6inches in length (you can make yours as long as you wish), I then lined one end with some ducting to make a really tight fit, and very small square piece of ducting in the middle to stop four very, very tiny pinpricks of light, as shown here ;

    I made two of these and as said they fit inside 6 inch ducting ;

    Oh and I'll just say for everyone.. the best way to get this right now in my personal opinion is to order it from your local hydro store..they should be able to order these in easily because the place I purchased them from charges quite a bit for delivery, so picking it up yourself is the best option right now

    I've always used a carbon filter for this very reason. Stops light traveling through the duct and also stops any nasty bugs traveling through the duct.
    It doesn't have to be a new filter or a expensive one . I just use a old filter
