Default are autoflowering seeds genetically modified?

are autoflowering seeds genetically modified? If so, I would assume it's not good for us compared to natural seeds?

No they're not genetically modified, they are crossed with the cannabis sub species - Ruderalis which grows naturally in colder climates and has an automatic flowering approach in response.

It really depends on your definition of 'genetically modified'... but if you include pollinating plants with selective strains, then you would be correct. But if you are thinking it is laboratory work, then you would be wrong.

London Seed Center have a video about creating autos floating about somewhere & it is something that we are all capable of doing (so long as we have room for at least 2 plants)

At its very simplest level, the genes have been modified.

Bit of a bed wetter phrase though, genetically modified, innit? I mean, carrots used to be white. We've been piddling around with the genes of fruit and veg for hundreds of years to make them mould resistant or colourful or whatever.

Would eugenics not be a more accurate term since its selecting good traits and stopping reproduction of undesirable traits, as opposed to modifying the gene itself. Or is eugenics a human specific thing?

Wiki has eugenics down as :-

Eugenics is a set of beliefs and practices that aim to improve the genetic quality of a human population by excluding certain genetic groups judged to be inferior, and promoting other genetic groups judged to be superior.

I thought it wasn't possible to clone autoflowering seeds?

Cloning autos can be done but is pretty pointless as the clone will be the same age as the parent

But you do not need to clone to create autos....
