Hello all!
Im in a stupid situation which has left me very frustrated and with a fair bit of wasted money.
I have now gone through my 8th Auto seed which has failed to germinate.
My first seeds were sourced from a local supplier, mephisto genetics, and with Gaz being very kind to offer to mentor a grow, I tried and failed to get any of the 5 to break ground. I tried the the paper towel method, i tried to soak overnight and then direct in soil.
Suspicion was on poor seeds. I then ordered seeds from seedsman, fastbuds GSC, and put 2 seeds in paper towels, both show'd taps roots in 24-48hrs. They were put in the soil when the taps were at least 1/2 inch long, but it seems as soon as they go into the soil, they stop growing.
Im certain my soil is not overwatered, ive been very careful, using a spray bottle and only keeping the seed area moist. The seed area is also covered with a translucent cup to keep the humidity up.
Whats odd that I have prior to getting serious with this, planted and half grown many landrace seeds that i have. Mostly to practice. They pop out and grow without issue. i have even cloned these wildlings, and the cuttings too have taken root and growing fine in the soil.
Here is the last seed that has failed. It was a slow starter, but still. Started by soaking in a cup of water for 12 hours, then in a paper towel. The tap root came bout in 24hrs after it was in the paper towel, and after 48hrs in the towel I potted it bout a cm deep, lightly covered with a little soil, after the tap were 1/2inch long.
Its been almost 72hrs now, and nothing. So I dug the seed out, and its pretty much how it was when it went in.
Im using organic soil, which has been verified by Gaz to be fine.
My temps are a staying under 30c, with a high of 29 and a low of 25. Humidity at bout 60% + a dome.
I have 1 GSC auto left, and Im really wanting to sort this out. Any insight on what could I be doing wrong would be much appreciated.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this.
Best!
