The sock helps pretect the filter getting a little blocked with dust ,as I say when they look dirty or between grows just give em a hand wash in water

Cheers sad, i was just thinking with it blowing out would it still get the benefits but i do have it on anyway so ill just keep it on

If your blowing thru it rather than pulling thru it ,the sock isn't needed mate ,I assumed you was pulling rather than pushing

I've seen videos of people cutting the filter cover in half and placing it on the inside of the carbon filter when blowing through it. I'm considering doing it on my next grow/set up.
