Is it okay to to have something in contact with cfl lamp while it is on?

Been thinking about how to get it horizontal but don't want to cause fire risk or risk breaking lamp...

Yeah, these plants are getting watered too much, which is why you're seeing the greenery on top of the soil...always remember the soil does not need to be wet at all times, allow the medium to dry out between waterings, the girls will love you for it too

I water about once a week with a light amount of water. I'll pick these out as don't look good.

That means something is wrong..either the pots are not freely draining well, or the soil is too compact...what are temps like?

Don't know about temps I don't have a way of measuring. I've only just put a fan in today.

    I'm still learning this sizzle...

Ok well, you really need to have some way of knowing the temps and humidity, it's so crucial..especially when you're first starting out and haven't yet dialled in your grow environment...best to purchase a digital Thermometer/Hygrometer as soon as you can really.

I'd buy a reflector. Can get em for 15 quid on ebay, cheaper yet if you find a 2nd hand deal. As soon as the plant starts spreading out you'll need it horizontal to cover as much as you can. Using yoyo bunjees makes adjusting the height easy as she grows. Assuming this isn't an auto?

Ah ok. I was assuming that cause you seem to be in a pretty small pot and its said that transplanting autos isn't a good idea as you risk stunting growth on a measured lifecycle

    Should I repot before topping?

Read up on topping and general advice is top from just above 3rd node if you have 5 or more nodes. Does this sound right?

The plant isn't flowering yet? How would I know when it is?
