Default What next? Train or Top?

Hey guys not sure what to do next with my plant.

Read a bit about training and topping but not sure it's at that stage yet. Any advice please.

Also, my lamp is vertical atm. Looks a bit close to top leaves you reckon?

Put that bulb horizontal . Its better .

I would let it go a node two more up . Top . Then work the side branches outwards

I've got a pendant lamp so don't really have a way of putting it horizontal.

How do you work side branches out?

Once they start popping out . Drill holes on pot lip or tie a string around your pot and get pipe cleaners and tie them down then let em grow up a bit and so on . Makes em bushier and wider .
Then we can teach you how to selectively prune certain unwanted branches to allow light penetration

Get a piece of insulated wire . Tie the bulb to the cord and make it horizontal . You can make a reflector also out of foil for maximum light redistribuition . Horizontal lighting always gives more lux and par then vertical . Shoots the light downwards better then horizontal

Thanks for suggestion. I'm a total novice at this so need to know what you mean by 'tie them down' do you means leaves?

Is it safe to tie anything to bulb?

Also I read on this forum somewhere that Al foil isn't that reflective and could be a fir hazard? Just what I remember reading...

No probs man . No no not the leafs . Those you can push down or tuck away if the hide too much light .

Lets say after you top . And the side branching starts bunching up lets say 3inches or so . You take your pipe cleaner . Tie the tip of the branch down to the side of your pot . Alllow all branches to grow equally best you can . Then tie em back down to make the plant look flat for lack of better term .

I think I know what you mean.

I'll have to let branches grow a bit before I try.

    Thanks for explaining.
