    Default First time breeding attempt

    Gday cobbers

As the title says, I'm about to embark on my first ever breeding attempt.
I have a male th seeds Mendocino madness, which I have separated from the rest of my plants. The male was a free reg seed from attitude. Currently in my flower room I have tangilope, cheese and what may be stardog. Can't quite tell yet, it was a gifted cutting. Beautiful plant though, great structure and the stink from stem rubbing is tremendous.
When the males pollen sacks are developed and ripe I'm gonna harvest and bag the pollen and pollinate one branch on each of the strains.

It will be fun seeing what I get, could have a good new pheno hiding in there somewhere.

How long do you wise ones think I have until pollen is ready to harvest? They are 3 weeks into 12 12 now

I've never had any luck on storing pollen but many here do it much better than I have ever done

thanks ice, ill keep post updated for sure
i think i will only need to store it for a week or 2 mc, probably let it sit in the pollen sacks themselves tbh, so long as they dont split

Well the first pollen sacks have opened. It's a good job the plant was in isolation and the door closed to the girls. Didn't catch any of the pollen but I'll be prepared for tomorrow Click image for larger version.

Well I've finally got around to it. I had chopped the pollen sacks, dried them and have now just applied the pollen to three of the girls.
Hopefully I won't have any major fuck ups with the entire harvest being seeded. I'd boil my head if that happened.
Anyway come December time I will have
    Mendocino madness x lemon haze
    Mendo madness x UK cheese
    Mendo madness x tangilope

Will be fun and interesting to see if I get anything exciting from them

I made sure to turn fans off and spray the surrounding plants with water before and after pollinating a single Branch on each of the plants. I have turned lights right down to not get water burn and at 7pm I will go and have a nosey and turn lights back on to full power.

How long will it take until the pistils wither?

Nice going prime, takes just a couple days for the pistils to shrivel if I remember correctly. Didn't pay much attention to that during my seed grow to be honest.

As for the resulting plants, expect the females to pass down the most traits to the offspring, don't ask me why it's just something I read and confirmed when growing out 10 plants from a cross I made myself.
