They gavita are industry standard mate always wanted one or 2 but the money is big. They claim to give more light for your buck too due to there being no losses alongf leads etc, the ballast more or less attaches to the bulbs.

i have this ballast, 3rd yr (i think) on it and its been great. The 400v thing (dont quote me) gives a better coverage ort some guff. I dunno i just liked the sound of it.

So would 1 600w with a parabolic hood be all that was needed for my 240x240 room ?

Ok so my canopy temperature is fairly stable these days in the mid to hi 20’s with the occasional dip into the low 30’s.

However, whilst spending some time with the ladies this afternoon i noticed that the bottom of my smart pot is still wet, although more worryingly it’s cold to the touch.

Is this going to cause me problems an if so how best can I rectify it ?

Right mate dont worry about the wet, its fine, however, get the pots on a tray like a garland tray. You will need a good run off system soon anyway mayte, you gonna be banging 3 litres a day soon, and more after that. Oh what size pots you got? Ideally 20 litres or more. You need a good steady warmth all over the room. It will always be hotter higher up, but even so the pots you do not want cold, try get temps up to around 18-20c around the pot level. Use the temp gauge to test if u need to
