Would a carbon filter be suitable for lowering the ec value ?

Problem solved aquatics place in notcuts sells ro water at 0.16 per lit. So I’m going down in a bit to get 60 lit

    Q. Can I store ro water in a sealed water container indefinitely or do I need to put an air stone in there and keep it oxygenated?

Also can I mix 60lit of feed and store or do i need to use fairly soon after it’s mixed ?

Hey budwiser, it depends on what ppm scale you are using. 500 / 700 ???

A plant that size only needs a little food around 0.3 on top of the base reading.

Regards silicon, you need to use it in the right way to make sure it mixes well and your plants use it.

The process i use is this.

I get my 10 ltr bucket and ph it to 6.0 (for coco) I then draw up my silicon (5 ml as i live in hard water area) and add it a bit at a time until its all in there...you will notice there is way less milky look to it as it mixes in like this. Then add your roots stuff and base nutes, test ph and adjust accordingly. Leave it for 2 hours and then go back check all in line and temp is around18-20 c and use it

    Hi Smoby,

    Thank you for the advice.

Now I’ve a good reliable source for ro water nearby it makes life so much easier as I’m starting with a base reading of 45.

    How do I tell if it’s a 500/700 scale ?

I too live in a hard water area so will take my lead from you and look to do 5ml per 10 lit and see how it goes. I’ve also started using it as a foliage spray just putting 1ml along with 1ml calmag in a 1 lit spray.

By this do you mean that if after I’ve added silicon, calmag, rizo and my ppm is 300, bring it up to 600 with my nutes which is the 0.3 bit ?

    it

Yeah mater that is right. What meter do you have.? i will look it up and see which. Regards your tap water what ec and ph is it? Mine is 0.4 and ph 7.2 to 7.6 I like having this water as it means i need not add any cal / mag apart from a spray in week 3 veg and week 3 n 5 flower. If yours is any where close to mine i would call you mad for buying ro water when you have water that saves you work.

Regards the silicon i use Growth tech liquid silicon. I use it at 0.5ml pl but have used it at 1ml pl but felt this greened them up a bit too much lol.

Let me know what you have there and ill see what the score is
