Can I harvest top colas first?

As per topic...
I've done a fair bit of reading about this and still can't decide if it will work or not...
My top colas are looking nice and juicy, starting to go real milky with a few amber...
I have a decent amount of buds under the top canapoy though, that look as if they need longer...
Question is can I actually harvest top first? Or will the plant start dieing and bottom buds won't devolp any further?

I was always under the impression it can put the plant in to shock and stunt growth I maybe wrong tho

Ive done it the other way around...mainly as I have no space in my drying tent for the top cola...no issues as yet

As i don't like a lot of amber's i wouldn't hesitate in taking off the main cola if it were ready and the lower ones weren't wouldn't be much different than supercropping the main cola imo which i've done loads of times because of height issues and they always bounce back the next again day, jmo, all the best mukka G'.

When you harvest the top buds, do u cut as close to bud as possible? Or do you take small branch?

I take partial branches removing the top colas first.

yes for sure you can ive been doing it for years when u have small spaces u want every bit the best it can be , so i take the all the top main colas then leave the rest to finish off , it takes a week or so

rot is another reason ive had to do it as well

Just cut the whole cola off brother just an inch or two under the bottom bud so you have a bit of stalk to toe something on to it for hanging it to dry, all the best mukka G'.

Forest has given great advice wer this is concerned..this isnt as much of a problem with leds..but many people cut the ripe top colas then harvest the bottom half a week or two later wen they are bigger fater heavier and more ripe...a good way to gett more harvest from one plant...but wher you cut the top part of the plant off some people also seal the main branch cut with abit of plastic and tape..this is so air or infections dont hit it or go down the open wound
