5 years on the trot I've had a Carol Service on Christmas Eve but this is the first year I've had listeners!

I feel that Christ is being ripped out of Christmas leaving a vacuous, empty shell that is being filled by retailers. My father hammered the point home this evening when I rang him, 'There's no longer any sense of occasion to it' he complained, pointing out that, when he goes to my sisters for Christmas dinner, he thoroughly expects at least one of her sons to be sat at the Christmas dinner table - still in his pajamas

Whilst I may not be a religious person as such, I enjoy the occasion of Christmas, the Carols, the Salvation Army band playing in the city centers, the hot chestnut sellers. All these have gone - or are on their way out - Replaced with what? Santa (who they are now arguing should be gender neutral FFS!!), 'elf on the shelf' & retail therapy! What do we now celebrate? The 'right' to eat, drink and spend what we do not have

Anyway, off my soapbox... Same day next year guys?

I thoroughly agree that the "Season", which has been CHRISTmas, is very much gone. There is little love and so little sharing, and even less gratitude. People expect something for nothing and they think that is being "smart". Few see the slavery and exploitation, but I digress LOL.

Oh~ So it's not like there's a link where the event is stored some place? Fair enough, that data store would get huge!

It's cool, M_C, I sorta assumed that there would be one, but if you have to do stuff to make it work then let's leave it. It is Christmas Day after all
