Something like that. I have A 127W LED, and I can get it as close as 5 to 6" in veg with no problems, almost as close as A CFL.
How long you been growing for man? Do you use only LED now?

The lights are plenty strong at 30" for young plants. Then I'll start lowering as they get bigger and more robust.

If it's too powerful on 137 watt at 30+in is it best to raise the light or lower the watt like you say to 100? And will the new growing leaves just look instantly fucked if the light isn't right?

    Default Seedlings and LED

I was actually thinking about this also and stumbled across this wee badboy for £70
Seen someone using there larger led with good results. I think they are reasonable priced compared to others

You'll flatten the little seedlings if it's too strong. It'll look almost over watered.

You'd be best to do a little trial and error. If it were me I would dim it a little and keep it around 28-30". Then you can slowly either lower the fixture or increase wattage

Ok man thanks, I'll start it at 100w, if it survives that I'll keep amping it a little, then go lower if it still isn't dead

I was looking at these before getting IS, not this specific model but theres lots similar out there, got too bogged down by which one would actually deliver it's stated wattage. So as IS was getting good reviews and people were using them in diary's I thought I'd just grab one of them.

Yeh no issue there, I was growin in a 1x1x1.8m tent, needed an oil rad in the tent to keep temp up, should be sound for indoor summer grow, suppose it's all depending on other elements but led do keep heat down.

I feel like cfl veges a bit faster than any high output light including LED but there are so many other factors that it could just be a coincidence.
