    Default Coco question guys

    Just need a quick answer as I'm getting mixed answers online, does the canna coco pro come with food in already? Fella at the shop said it does but online says it does/doesn't so am a little stuck

    I'm no coco expert Lowrollerbean, but I do not believe Canna Coco Pro comes with any feed already...however it does have Trichoderma (beneficial fungi)

    You'll need to purchase some coco specific nutrients.

    Only the plagron coco comes prefertilised. The canna pro has an Ec Of 0.6 from the bag but it’s not a source of npk, it’s residue salts from manufacture. As Ice states you’ll need a base nutrient.

    Canna coco Pro is inert (contains no feed)

    Currently running coco pro using canna nutes (first grow still) but was unsure on this as it does state it's pre buffered so I assume they mean the coco has been pre fed? Resulting in any feed for the first few waterings would be available directly to the plant and not the coco

    I think you are using the canna coco based soiless growing medium. It's similar to using a soil. It has nutes for the first few weeks and then you need to start adding nutes.

    A photo of the bag will confirm.

    I think you're confusing what they mean by 'pre buffered'

    Here is there explanation ;

    "CANNA Coco Professional Plus is a pure, organic product with a homogeneous structure and has had a full buffering, eliminating the side effects of growing on coir, as coir could consume some of the nutrients."

    "CANNA’s buffering process allows us to ‘pre-program’ the medium to a certain age. This ensures you get the same consistent, high quality material time after time"

    I always flush coco before I use it, check the runoff ec compared to your water ec as some coco can be salty, I use canna coco from the start too
