Default Should I defoliate at this late stage?

I have plants 8 weeks from seed and heavy into flower.

As you can see I haven't done much in the way of training.
I have removed about half a plastic bags of leaves earlier in the grow but they are still very bushy.

Looking for advice on whether to go to town and remove a fair bit on the bud sites and leaves under the main canopy.

What I'm asking really is will defoliating at this stage just stress the plants and be counter productive?
To my knowledge I can remove a few leaves each day and it shouldn't really affect them.

    Thanks in advance anybody...

Looks like you've got some nice big girls growing

I would personally agree with your last sentence..removing the leaves should be fine, as long as you don't go silly all at once.

For anybody that's interested I've been doing some research tonight and found this old thread by 'MrG' from 2014.

Basically to sum it up, defoliation can work wonders but not advised for those without some growing experience.
If you read the thread he has over 30 years experience and gets great results with pretty heavy defoliation... like 8 ounce from plants 32" tall 'impressed!'

    The ultimate defoliation thread

4 weeks from 12 12 flip, is about the father's you would want to go with your Lolly Popping. 2nd and third week, is the normal time frame. JMO

I was meaning more general defoliation over the whole plant, removing leaves not bud sites, rather than lolly-popping.

Just keep in mind, that your leaves are what feed your bud sites. JMO
