Not standing up for them or anything but have got 2x 300w Meizhi LED's, first lights I started off with and have lasted me 2 odd years with no issues,(although I now use a QB, I still use the Meizhi for seedlings) Sorry for your financial loss though, £15k is a lot of money.

It has to be said the very best Chinese manufacturers can at times offer a reasonable copy. And if you're ordering enough in one order for it to be worth the shipping and import charges it can work out cheaper. But from what I've heard if you do have any issues and many do, you're pretty much sausaged.

That's the point, loads of electronic equipment on ebay amazon etc is copied sub standard stuff...Even with bonafide manufacturers the quality isn't always what it should be...I was in currys the other day talking to friend who works with the Knowhow team, he was saying the defective electronics returns in there is shocking right across the range but at least you got somewhere to take it back unlike with some of these unscrupulous online vendors...

Six sigma manufacturing methods of course. They can literally say there will be 1 in billion failures as they have their materials and process under control.

I must say, some of those real shitty copy companies weve seen a lot of, have had quite a few failures - even on here. The failure rate is literally millions of times more frequent than the real McCoys.

But apparently the leds are the same.....

Not to worry we will send you out a replacement....

I rememeber someone with a Batman avatar had a Kind LED lamp that was like 1200 pounds, and he had a dodgy cooling fan and there was a lot of work to get some generic parts to work with it.

Default MEIZHI and Spider Farmer LEDs warning

I have 3 Meizhi lights ( 1x 300w, 1x 450w and 1x 900w) and they have been pretty good so far. The 900w one had some leds failing after 1 year but they replaced it pretty quickly. I’m in Canada tho if that changes anything. They wanted me to pay for the return but I managed to make a deal for the shipping and it was pretty reasonable. So far so good but yeah I will probably buy some QBs when they die.

15K loss sucks... specially in £! Is there any kind of consumer protection in UK?

I know when Mars had a problem with LEDs they just sent replacement surface mount LEDs to people who complained! I ended up soldering quite a few boards for people

I take back what I said... my 900w meizhi just gave up on one side again! I guess it’s QBs time... question is what would be good for a 120 cm x 60 cm tent?
