    If I went and took some bamboo of a plant nearby what would I clean it with before putting it in the groom ? Or would it just be worth buying some

    For the price of a handful of bamboo canes, I'd just buy them... that way you know you aren't introducing anything nasty into your groom....

    Not sure where you're based but the spring stuff will be available soon in the shops in the UK, there will be loads, absolutely inundated with gradening crap in the supermarkets, Wilko, B&Q and the like. If you can sit out another 2 weeks, there will be LOADS to choose from and you would not look out of place with gardening stuff in "winter".
