I've kinda went from an anorak to browse, email & netflix but I also have technology that I enjoy & want to have it working

I had to look up anorak to understand that!

I get you completely. I used to be up to date on all the tech. Now I'm like my old man

Still can't get Wine to see my NAS... it could be a Wine limitation? But I think it can be sorted with inventive thinking
Twin screen, I'll get back to...
My QL-500 printers drivers load in Linux... but I can only get the P-Touch software for it to work in Wine... Need to get Wine to see the printer... or get P-Touch to work in a linux environment... probably easier to sort the printer!
Torrenting is a bit basic - but i can live with it... but I want my VPN back...

Sorted a few other issues I had... I think (bar the above!) I'm getting there

I looked at VMWare to sort some issue for now... but it just made my head hurt

    Pffftttt... I give up

There is too much I can't get to work...

Wine won't support my NAS - or see my Brother QL-500 printer
Virtual box won't support USB storage
VMware won't load VMware tools - so am stuck with basic graphics that don't support DirectX (I want to play Zelda)
Wine won't fully support Project 64 (I want to play Zelda)

There are other bits that I'm prepared to work on but the above are deal breakers - all my music is on NAS, so to keep the radio running I need to keep copying music to C: (which is only a 100gigi SSD) - and I want to play Zelda (which should be simple!)

I'm going to download Win 10 (spit!) & continue my Linux escapade on a virtual machine... see if I can get things to work!

If it would run my required programs then I'd love it too.

I've played on & off with Linux for 20+ years & (unfortunately) it is still an operating system for anoraks
