    Could be a one of three things...loose mounting, de laminated (loose plates) around the windings & most common, its very old and has had a lot of use...

    The only one that could cause an issue is the last one and even then it would probably be a shorted winding and blow a fuse as mentioned already...they're not really repairable and the noise will only get worse over time...had a mate who ran one for 3 years with the constant buzzing...

    I went to the hydro shop they kindly replaced the starter but bulb didnt start.... so they ordered more starters and chokes and it will arrive soon, meanwhile they gave me a 400w ballast for free.. cool guys..

    Wow its def not like that where im from... Pretty liberal down here and shop owners are super cool...

    Sad thing there are no starters / ignitors for HPS bulbs... I was said to contact the manufacturer directly smh...
