Default Subcool's super soil (UK measurements) - Just add water

    Hey gang,
So I've been planning out my year on the growing side of things. I'm just getting back into it after a hiatus so I'm starting from scratch.
I like to grow on soil and as organically as possible. I've tried other mediums and soil really is my favourite so this year I'm looking at making some of SubCool's super soil and cooking it up over the summer (save waiting 60-90 days in this cold weather.
So I've been looking up the recipe, pricing things up and trying to locate everything so when I'm ready I can have it all arrive at the same time.
All the measurements are imperial and mean very little to me. Therefore I've converted it to metric for those in the rest of the world haha.
I'll list the direct conversion and the rounded up version also
    Remember with Organics it doesn't need to be 100% accurate, you're not baking a cake haha, so the rounded recipe should work just as well;

SubCool's super soil (UK Measure - exact)

382.2 litres high quality base soil
    22.68kg high quality work castings
    1.134kg fish bone meal
    2.268kg high phosphorus Bat guano
    2.268kg blood meal
    1.134kg bone meal
    0.7litre/700ml oyster shell
    0.7l kelp meal
    0.7l alfalfa meal
    0.177l/177ml Epsom salt
    0.237l/237ml Dolomite lime
    0.473l/473ml Azomite
    2tbs powdered humic acid

SubCool's super soil (UK measure - rounded)

400 litres high quality base soil
    23kg high quality work castings
    1.2kg fish bone meal
    2.5kg high phosphorus Bay guano
    2.5kg blood meal
    1.2kg bone meal
    0.7litre/700ml oyster shell
    0.7l kelp meal
    0.7l alfalfa meal
    0.2l Epsom salt
    0.25l Dolomite lime
    0.5l Azomite
    2tbs powdered humic acid

For the record, this is not my recipe, it's an old recipe from Subcool which has been modified by sub and others over the years. When using this soil, fill pots 1/3 to 1/2 full with super soil (can use 3/4 for super heavy feeders but always test on lower amounts first) . Top with a Standard light mix and then just add water until the end. Teas can be added if yellowing occurs earlier than you'd like.
Never put plants directly into super soil, the roots will find it and use the nutes as required

You'll need a large area to mix all of that

You're not wrong, I mixed; 100l compost, 50l coco and 50l perlite a couple days ago and took a good chunk of my garage floor, had to keep sweeping it back together, needed a bigger space, even for that.
It is very tiring too, mixing those 200l really took it out of me. I'm running biobizz for now until I'm ready to invest in this mix.
I'll put the smaller batches up for you too guys, you can do just one bag equivalent and I've got it book marked somewhere

    Forgot to say;
After thorough mixing, wet the soil
soil needs to be put into bins with lids on and either cooked in the sun for at least 30 days
Otherwise it should be left for 60-90 days to mature
Once cooked/matured, it will need another mix

I'm going to give it a go as it produces some incredible results by what I've seen and by all accounts produces some of the best smelling and tasting smoke.
It's the 'just add water' side that I'm really looking for, if I get good results and don't need to spend time mixing nutes, then I'm happy. I'm also aiming for perpetual harvest on mixed strains that'll be varying a lot, so the ease is doubled but I appreciate your input.
I'll be doing a diary, in a few months haha and will link here when I start it, we'll be able to compare then
What mix are you using yourself?

Hi mate I would use a
Peat alternative, my preferred would be Canadian sphagnum Pete Moss, you can use WELL rinsed coco too.
Aeration 50/50 rice hulls and perlite
50/50 bio char compost and earth worm castings from the worm bin
Inputs are All per cublic foot of soil

    1 cup neem meal
    1 cup kelp meal(ascophyllum nodosum)
    1 cup crab/ crustacean meal
    1 cup malted Barley powder(enzymes)

    2 cups volcanic rock dust
    1 cup gypsum
    1 cup oyster shell powder
    Humic ag6
I would inoculate a first soil mix with some kind of mycorrhizae

I've got a small batch cement mixer and a wheelbarrow (save space and mix in no time).
