Default New grower: Some input on my lighting plans?

    Hey, all. New here.
    Diggin' the forum a lot.

I'm hoping to start piecing together a system for my first grow. I'm still sort of in the initial research phase. From nematodes to diodes. So much to take in.

Lots of questions, but still lots more reading to do. Looking forward to viewing the grow journals here. Think I'll learn a bunch from those.

Recently I've been reading up on lighting options. Still have a lot of uncertainty on how to make the right lighting choice for me. I do like the idea of having one that covers veg and flower. I'm also getting curious about kit lights.

Just to check if I'm close to having a clue:
Does the following sound like it could be a safe/effective light setup in a 4x4x8 tent? Planning a 3 plant scrog for my first grow.

(x4) HLG 65 Quantum Board LED Grow Lamp Veg & Bloom 4000K

Quantum Boards. 120 pcs Samsung LM301B LED's, 10,000 Lumens. 65 Watts of power.

Total of 260W used, I believe.
    ~$400 shipped.

Sounds great to me so far.

If I understand correctly, I think these would decently cover a 3x3 canopy. Maybe not perfectly?

Am I way off the mark? Is having 4 of these in a 4x4x8 bonkers? Too bright? Too hot?

    Appreciate any input. Thanks.

Welcome to the mad house Sir Digby.

I have only done two grows well I’m actually part way the second so that’s not a strictly true statement but hey...

Anyway, on my first grow I used a prakaasa led panel which was a great light but IME using led alone wasn’t a great choice as the bud had no density to it. I believe if I had used a mix of LED with a 600w HPS then i would have had bigger denser bud.

On this grow I’ve currently got 1 x 600w LED and one 600w HPS with a duel spectrum bulb. I’m going to see how it go’s I the flower stage but may end up adding another 600w HPS but that’s more due to size of space rather than not having enough light for my ladies.
