Thought I would give one of these a try, mate of mine says it saves a fair bit of time on the little nuggets

These are often asked about... the consensus of opinion is that they aren't so good

I use it on my popcorn stuff that I'm not too bothered about and for that it's a huge time saver. For decent buds, hand-trimmed is best. Just my 2c

I have one of these and used it for the 1st time on my last run. The general consensus seems to be trimming wet works better when using these. You'd also need a hanger of some sort to lay your harvest out on.
I know alot of people trim dry so it could be a bother to some. I have yet to use the other blade that comes with it to trim dry.
Hand trimming is definitely the best way there is. But if you have alot at harvest, and have limited time and help this is a saver. Also if you have back or hand problems, this will also help out to save from any additional aches and pains.

Personal opinion: I kind of like it, and have yet to find anything to complain about it. I may try to use it for dry trim after this next runs done.

That's quite interesting as people I've spoke to used it on dried plants & the major complaint was the amount of trichs that dropped... maybe wet is the way to go?

It very well could be. I based the wet trimming with this device based off of the reviews I read on amazon. Before that I was dry trim all the way.
