    Default Dechlorinating Tap Water

    Hello Everyone,

    Throughout my grow I have been boiling water to dechlorinate it.

    As the plants grow larger and more thirsty this has become quite time consuming. I do have some aquarium conditioner in the house which can remove chlorine from water within 5 minutes.

    A quick google search didn't show me any obvious answers to this. My thinking behind it is that if it's safe for the plants and fish in the aquarium then perhaps it could also be used in my garden?

    this is how I do mine others may do it different
    leave it overnight with airstone in add nutes day after leave to settle for at least 5hrs.
    adjust ph to 5.8.
    let it settle down over night and check ec and ph if ok feed her.
    sometimes after settling have to give tiny bit of ph down but not very often.
    my mix usually takes bit less than 1ml ph down to be at right sort of level

    when I was feeding beneficials I used Chlorine Klear as OJ said it is just vitamin C but it works well and is cheap enough. I don't bother now I don't feed beneficials just use it straight from the tap.

    I do know Ecothrive released a product exactly for this, they called it 'ecothrive neutralise'..but there has been much discussion regarding just using Vitamin C for same results.

    Here are some links where we have previously discussed the subject that may prove helpful ;

    If using the boiling method, make sure you have chlorine and not chloramine. Chloramine does not boil off.
