If you put the fabric pot on a layer of sand but keep the water level in the sand at least 1 inch below the grow bag then you have essentially created a Sub Irrigated Planter (SIP) also known as wicking system. The sand acts as an intermediate to ensure that the soil mix in the bag never gets wetter than the sand itself, very similar to Au-Bain-Marie cooking.

Your roots won't airprune on the bottom in that case because it stays too moist for that. Airpruning will still happen on the sides though.

I'm glad you are good at explaining things, thank you. I understand I may get roots out the bottom but I'm cool with cutting those when needed.

I love the fabric pouches. I just picked up some 13" pot elevators to keep them off the ground avoided rot. I always line the bottom of each fabric pot with dutch rocks. Then when I transplant into bigger pouch, I add more rocks directly under the roots I'm transplanting and water with Mychorazae.

I think everyone would do better just by using the fabric pouches.

I was afraid someone would come and say that
I have four 1 gallon pouches here and a 7 gallon one as well but do really like my glass bottles as well.
Maybe I'll transplant the photoperiod that I'm doing an extended veg on right now into a fabric pot later on.

Well it's official first auto bean ever in water. She's a seedmans fem Alaskan purple auto.
Been soaking since 3, she's sinking already. I may have her in the bag tonight in between the sheets.
