This thread has had me googling every free chance I have had all day. Since I am growing organically in soil, shrimp shells would be the best way to get natural PGR into the plants. Unfortunately, I cannot find a source for dried shrimp shells.

Shrimp shells would be for chitosan. That is a different kind of pgr than what we are talking about here. Actually I wouldn’t even call it or it’s effects a pgr.

Chitosan is a SAR (system acquired resistance) activator within the plant.

When a plant is attacked by pests it’s immune response activates certain hormones. In cannabis it tends to increase its secretion of essential oils and or thc to fend off pests.

By using chitosan it shrimp shells you get the benefit of the insect attack without actually being attacked so no negatives

It won’t really do anything for stretch though

Excellent! I will mix some into my next transplant. Any thoughts on volume or just follow package directions by half?

I’ve never personally grown with soil mate. I went straight for hydro.

I do use organic teas in my hydro though for good bennies. To play it safe you could do the same.

Get a bucket and an air pump.

Put a couple of hand fulls of the insect frass into a sock or tights hang it into the bucket for 24 hours bubbling with a bit of sugar/molasss.

Then water your plants with the tea

I am not a fan of teas. Never seen any rapid response from them. I like to cook a healthy soil and then feed it water. If (when) plants get hungry i start adding bottled nutes. Thanks again for the info! Never heard of insect frass before. Sounds like a great addition to my soil.
