    Default LED advice

    Hi All,

Not done a grow for about 7 or 8 years now but just ordered some Bruce Banner #3 for original sensible seeds. I was going to do a SCROG method which ive never done before. I wanted to use LED's as they will save me money in the long run and also less heat which makes controlling the temperature easier. Also less heat less smell?

There are a lot of lights available and im sure a lot of them are cheap china products so I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any reliable brands or any suppliers in the UK.

I was previously using 600W HPS lights, what is equivalent to this in LED please? I dont want to buy a 1000W LED and it turns out its only equivalent to a 300W HPS.

    Thanks guys

Hi dependent on the quality of the 600w hps around 400w of qbs would equal its output byt if wanted to maximise returns and ppfd I'd recommend a 550 kit which runs at around 490w at the wall buddy. And shell far outperform any 600w hps. Many people have managed 2.2lb from 1 550 light.

Thanks for the replies. I didnt mention im planning on going for a 2x2x2 tent so 4m2. I was planning on buying 4 lights and building the screens approx 75x75cm to allow some space to get around them for pruning etc. So the light mentioned above im not sure if it would be practical.

I was hoping to get 4 lights which are as good as or possibly better than the HPS. I would go for 4 HPS lights but the last grow I had 2 and i'm concerned that 4 would be way to hard to control the temps, and also more risk of fire etc.

With the LEDs also can they be used from seed to harvest?

    Thanks

4 x 550 kits would be perfect for this area and give youbtital ppfd saturation buddy. But if you wanted to run say 2 with 2 x 600 hps as a tester youd see for yourself the difference.

And absolutely hlg led is ideal for full cycle as it has a much fuller spectrum than hps.

Would 4x the 550 kits be overkill?

realistically id be looking at 4 of these:

    https://vividled.co.uk/shop?olsPage=...-driver-uk-kit

How does ones of those lights in the link compare to a 600w hps?

I know you said many have got 2.2lbs off one of the lights you said. which is 1kg or 1,000g. going off that would the 150w one I have linked get rougly 250g?

I know all these figures are hypothetical but it helps me understand a little better
