Default Answered: What is the HST called when you crack the stem?

    Hi people,

Does anyone know what the HST is called when you gently crack the stem with the aim of strengthening the stem but also widen the water/nutrient highways to deliver more of the good stuff to the buds?

I dont think its super cropping coz Im not talking about folding them over or even so much you create a knuckle, you just gently squeeze n twist until you hear a crack, and then do that up about every inch. I was looking on YouTube and some dude called it plant chiropractor, but dont think thats the proper name.

Or does it just fall under HST??

    Any ideas???

    Thanks ????

Hey, thanks for the link, looks like a nice result ????????

Without going through every page, I see you created a knuckle and bent them over i.e. super cropped them, good job!! But I am talking about something slightly different, where you squeeze the stems but dont fold them over, they stay standing tall.

Did you do this as well as fold them over? Apologies if I missed it. And are you saying that both methods are considered super cropping?

    Thanks dude

Yes, they are both supper cropping, I didn't mean to break them that much, but things happen some times, so I had to set them up on sticks, until the nob heal. Look on page 6, Post 115, and look through A couple of pages, and you will see what I had to do. But I did squezz the stems until they pop, they just were so heavy, I had to hold them up for A couple of days, so for them to heal.

I see what you did there. Usually the idea behind super cropping is to provide light exposure to the shoots lower down and so you end up with a lot more bud sites across a more even canopy. Im sure Im thinking of something slightly different yknow...

Check out this guy on youtube, 19mins in. He covers super cropping but also calls this particular method when cracking the stem; chiropractor part, never heard that before but have seen the technique.

This guy dose it, in veg, every 1in or so up the stems with the aim of increasing the water/nutrient highways. Its quite hard to tell from your pics on my phone, were you in veg or had you flipped already, and did you just crack the stems once where they folded, or did you do it several times to each stem like the guy in the YouTube video?

Im convinced its got another name y'know. Probably wrong like lol.

Never seen the Chiropractor part before, but I know some people trim like 2/3 of the plant from the bottom like he did. I have never done one to that effect, but might try it once just see what it is all about. I do however like to keep lots of fan leaves, because the fan leaves feed the buds sites, so don't know it all that is that necessary. I'll shoot you A video and show you the bud site on mine that you can't see because the top buds site are covering them up, but they are not pop corn bud site, just shorter tops, but are growing very well. Nice video.

Forcing a callus every inch or so on veg to create a thicker stem to increase nutrient and water uptake? In essence imo it's just super super super cropping haha
