Default Motherboard bios update and cpu

I'm not very pc minded but have built a cple, I need to swap a mtb and cpu over later . New mtb is gigabyte b450 aorus m and new cpu is ryzen 5 3600. Now...this may not be an issue if the mtb has 3000 ready on the box as it obviously means the bios is updated I'd reckon, but if I need to update it can I take the AMD ryzen 5 2400g out this pc and put it in the one I'm fixing to update the bios, as that one is 2nd gen, then swap it over for the 3600?

My best advice would be to ask on tomshardware forum...

It says 3000 ready... I would expect it to accept a 3000 series CPU....

MBD was all good, cpu was all good...case and psu were not . One that broke was a pre built shop buy with intel so the connectors weren't right and the case was purposely designed to be a pain in the arse to upgrade. Never buying pre built again. Just waiting on a new hard drive, install windows yada yada

Incidentally, just about to build my first pc.nothing special but im using a similar motherboard and cpu and wondered if I was going to have the same issue but all from what Ive read, 3rd generation cpu's should run fine without the BIOS update. Im using the b450 aorus pro wifi motherboard and the ryzen 5 3400g cpu.

Actually, was just reading that any motherboard pre-x570 is probably going to need a BIOS update for 3rd gen ryzen cpu's so will probably have to get the x570 aorus pro wifi instead now.....more bloody money.

If it isn't much extra then it's probably worth paying mate, to save the hassle of bios crap. I had an issue where the ssd wasn't able to install windows because it was the wrong format, wouldn't let me make a partition for it. So if you get that problem let me know and I'll link you a video to change the hard drive to the right type. Something to do with mbr, and the board does EIUF or some shite lol, remember the first line of the original post So you can mess about with it or just change the hard drive type. Might sound complete bollox but if you hit this snag you'll know straight away what the issue is.
