I think these are looking good now, they seem to be recovering from the trauma I put them through early on

Currently under 24h light around 250ppfd, swapping the water res every 2 days I think the roots are just touching it. PH 5.6 with nutes of 0.4 ec above base of 0.2. Simply feeding Forumlex nothing special. Each day I run the inlet and outlet fan for 5-10 mins to renew the air.

Temps are going high and low because of my house heating system being crazy. I really need to hook up the environment heater/cooler sensor switch kit thing but for now they seem good so I'll let them grow out a bit more.

The main error I think to learn from is not to plant in the dark because here they were planted in the dark, with a humdity dome (also not needed I think), this image was taken 7 days ago at night.

2 days later after ditching the dome you can see how they began to recover

Open your wings my girls ... heavenly light and nutrient flavoured water awaits you

The roots have reached the water and seem to be happy drinking lots. I just need to keep an eye on the res as the PH seems to jump to 7 by every 24-48 hours.

Another few days, stronger and more roots, and I may look to transplant one unlucky candidate into the aeroponics propagator

Thanks man it's quite a beauty I must admit.

    ### Day 9 - moved to Aeroponics ###

So... another day another update. I've decided to move all 3 babies to aeroponics tank, this is a test and he who dares, right?!

Here's before I moved them... they were drinking a LOT faster than the previous days. You can see after 1.5 days the res was nearly gone, most of which went last night.

Being super careful I took each stone out one by one until I couldn't reach in further with tweezers, this method was risky because the stones were rattling about. So on the 2nd pot I tried just tipping them out gradually, and it worked quite well but one root did come off (the middle plant or back right in the images going forwards). Will be interesting to see how this affects growth.

It ook 10L to fill up the Res. Roots are very barely touching the water top.

Ecothrice mixed in tap water 24h
    10ml formulex
    20ml canazym
25ml rhizo (this spikes PH by around 0.4)
    Ph 5.5
    Ec 4.8 (base 2.0)
    Light increased to 450 ppfd
    Added a rotating fan

Temp & RH out of whack because I had the tent open a while changing things (mainly pissing about with clip on fans what a nightmare).

Nice!!! Glad to see a solid recovery :-)

    Is that the final tank?

I only ask, as them girls will crash into each other or is it much larger than it looks?

Thanks man yes they're coming along nicely. I think removing the popcorn from water and dome were the key moments.

It's a small tank setup for the time being, although I have an Amazon Aeroponics setup to use if I decide to take them further... but I have to move in a few weeks so probably going to save the real big whoppa grow for afterwards. These 3 are some random freebie seeds so i've no idea what they are either

I'm hoping they start growing very quickly in the new environment and this way I have a bit of a baseline setup if I use it for cuttings in future.

Will be interesting to see how they adapt in the new home.

I'm going to be pushing them soon with light, nutrients and wind, gradually of course... to see what happens.

I think someone reading this could probably figure out how to germinate for aero from seed. That was really my goal with this project to be honest.

Nice to see you dropping by

It's great when we achieve what we set out. I reckon you can definitely improve the procedure in time and with experience.

Thought I was being a bit thick looking at your pics!!

Nice bits of kit, will definitely take a look, fancy a new challenge. Albeit will need to move house myself / re-educate/let her see the light with MrsJ114 ;-)

    I have some sad news...

I just went to check on them as it's been 3 hours in the new tank and the runt of the litter, the back left (which I said was back right earlier but couldn't edit the post, sorry)... well the back left just shrivvled up and died.

She put up a brave fight... even after having one root burnt from exposure outside of water direct to the light, she kept going, bless her. When transplanting she had less roots than the others.

I think it was down to root damage.

Anyway, as a precaution, I've dialed back the light incase it was that. If the other two are about to kick the bucket I need as much information as possible.

I hope I didn't overdo it on the nutrients. I switched from water + formulex (base nutrients basically) to a mix of formulex, rhizo, cannazym.

Seen this before? How do the others look? Ta
