if your growing in soil then dont bother with PH is what i have been told before as the soil does it for you. And for moisture if your pot is light then water it, if its heavy then dont.

Were talking about the PH of the soil, not water.

I got one of these but only ever used it once. Suppose it's good for homemade organic soil and help keep it stable. Might put it in me worm bin lol

I have one of these and only really use it to measure light intensity even though I have no idea what it actually measures. Yes I know phones come with this function as well these days but haven't got one

On very rare occasions I measure the pH and do think the thing works to a certain degree as the meter does move around while moving it in the soil. My soil's pH is all over the place though, some spots a tad alkaline, most of it in the 5.5-6.5 range but also plenty of spots that measure as very acidic, around 4 or even lower. Perhaps this is what they mean by soil is self regulating?

For moisture you may as wel use your finger or if possible just lift your pot and judge by how heavy it all feels.

Hi cannaKim if the top 1" of your soil is warm it's dry and needs water if it's cold its wet enough
My soil ph is 6.5-7 my water is 7.2 and drops when adding nutes depending on amounts added. I let the soil do the rest and just keep an eye on it.
So much to learn, so little time to learn it
