Is anybody or has anybody grow tobacco plants

I know a member who ain't been around for a while called hobbit,he used to grow it outdoors ,he was in Australia though ,not sure if the climate needed ,sure if you do a search you may find his posts

There was someone, can't remember who, that grew their own coffee beans, roasted them, ground them... and had enough for one mug full

wouldn't mind growing some but they would be shit outside in the uk wouldn't they ?
