    Default Modifying a grow tent

I have upgraded my tent so I have more space but the only brand with the dimensions I wanted, is poorly constructed and there is not enough socks in it.

I would like to cut into the fabric, and make some holes, so I can fit a couple of drawstring bags in place of socks.

Has anyone achieved this before? I'd like some tips as to how to go about it.

    Thanks in Advance

I have cut holes in tents a few times. Breaks your heart with a new tent but you soon get over it, I reinforce the cut with gaffa tape.

You didn't add a sock in just taped up the hole? does that not let dust and stuff in?

You can get a kit that will do that. I saw a video of it a few month ago & was pretty impressed.... if I'd paid more attention I would have remembered the name of it too

I've done it recently on a cupboard and my old tent. I used two different sized hole drill bits to drill rings out of some old paint trays. Lay them atop each other and drilled 5 or six holes through. Then lined up one ring where it would go and punctured a tiny hole. I fed through a small bolt and put the other ring in place. At this point I used a sock and wrapped the second ring with it so the fabric is sandwiched and the bolt pokes through it. Tightened the nut and then did the rest of the bolts and nuts. Once fastened I used a Stanley knife to cut the mylar inside the ring out. I cut the end of the sock so it had an opening, then shoved it through to the outside so theres a tunnel.

I did it that way for a cable hole. For venting I just used two 4" spigots instead of the plastic rings and bolted together through the mylar before cutting the hole.

    Hope that made some sense...
